Dogmeat cannot die in Fallout 4

Fallout 4's dog won't cark it on the regular. Good changes.

Any Fallout fan knows the pain of permanently losing the franchise's most popular companion to a fierce battle, absent-mindedness or a stray butterfly. The fragile hound usually known as Dogmeat seems almost to seek out danger.

In the past we've had to rely on saving and reloading to keep our good buddy alive, but Bethesda has now confirmed that this time around your hound will be immortal - much like essential NPCs in Skyrim, I imagine.

Excellent news for those already planning to construct a magical dog wonderland in the wilderness surrounding Boston.

Fallout 4 launches in November, which was only the start of the awesomeness at Bethesda's E3 2015 conference.
