Watch the 2015 Nintendo World Championships this weekend

The Nintendo World Championships make a return in 2015 with Splatoon's tournament debut.

The 2015 Nintendo World Championships will be livestreamed from 3:00pm PDT on Sunday June 14, making them an ideal kick off to E3 week for Nintendo fans.

Hosted by Kevin Pereira (Attack of the Show) and shoutcast by commentated by djWHEAT, Andre of Black Nerd Comedy and Justin Flynn, the event will mark Splatoon's debut as a tournament game.

There will be seven games featured apart from Splatoon, with a mix of new and retro titles on offer.

In addition to eight players selected via qualifiers to beheld at Best Buy stores in the US, Nintendo has invited the following competitors:

  • TheMexicanRunner (NES Completionist)
  • Bananas (Speedrunner)
  • Essentia (Speedrunner)
  • Trihex (Speedrunner)
  • Jovenshire (Smosh Games)

In case you missed it, the Nintendo World Championships were first announced in a Mega 64 episode starring Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.
