The best FREE iOS games this week

Skiing Yeti Mountain (iPad, iPhone)

Swipe your way to the bottom of the mountain without missing the gates. Entertaining in short bursts, Skiing Yeti Mountain is perfect for those looking for 30-second plays on the bus and hardcore mobile players alike: it gets seriously difficult.

Lara Croft: Relic Run (iPad, iPhone)

This endless runner puts you in the shoes of a variety of Laras, just in case one wasn't enough. You know what to expect by now. Run, jump, shoot, grab stuff. The difference this time is a huge variety of obstacles to traverse. Plus, you get to ride a dinosaur. Why aren't you downloading it already?

Crazy Kings (iPad, iPhone)

Crazy Kings is a super-fun cartoon tower defense freebie with a bunch of special cards thrown in to add variety. Just make sure you don't slip and buy the $100 "Cartful of Gems". Because that would never do.

The best PAID iOS games this week

You Must Build a Boat: €2.99 (iPad, iPhone)

Yes, you have to build a boat. You won't escape jail unless you do. This match-three puzzler, which will have you hooked from the start, charges you to line symbols up to help your little man fight, win, and get together the largest vessel possible. Totally worth the money.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions: €4.99 (iPad, iPhone)

This classic arcade game is the definitive twin-stick shooter (we're barely kidding: the original Geometry Wars has to be one of the most influential releases in the entire genre). Speed round the level grabbing power-ups and killing mercilessly. Drop us a line in 2020 when you come up for air.

Chaos Rings III: €19.99 (iPad, iPhone)

This is a full-scale Japanese RPG with a price tag to match, but if you're looking for something long and heavy for that next lengthy flight, you've just hit gold. Whether you're in the frame for summons, battling, crafting or story, you'll get your money's worth.
