The Witcher 3: Message From an Old Friend
Message From an Old Friend begins when you speak with the proprietor of a book store to the north of Heirarch Square in Novigrad. He has a gift for you, left by an old connection. He remembers it's a red book.
Wander the shop using Witcher Senses to locate red books. You can take every one you find and sell them back to the shop, if you like.
Eventually you'll find the correct one - My Manifesto - near the stairs on the second floor. Open the note inside to complete the quest.
Confused? Never mind. It all makes sense to someone, somewhere.
