First Madden 16 trailer features cover star Odell Beckham Jr.

Madden 16 outs the spotlight on New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

The Madden NFL 16 cover athlete vote came down to a battle between Beckham and New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

According to Xbox News, which knows enough about NFL that it can use phrases like "tight end" without giggling, Beckham is currently in his second pro season, and won acclaim during his rookie season by catching 91 receptions for 1,305 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

I honestly don't know a thing about NFL but even I can see that Beckham is an absolute firecracker. Being the youngest player ever chosen for the honour of gracing Madden's cover is probably the least of the honours he'll go on to win.

Here's the first trailer for EA Tiburon's latest, which hits PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on August 25.
