The Forest version 0.16 is now live on Steam with plenty of new additions. The game has been ported over to Unity engine version 5. The plant and skin shaders have been replaced or rewritten. Many other visual tweaks have been made, such as model upgrades.

The overall performance should also be improved, even for those with slower computers.

On the gameplay end, multiplayer gameplay should be better thanks to a new network prioritization algorithm. Save games have been wiped though unfortunately, due to large parts of the the environment and terrain getting reworked.

For the full changelog, see the game's Steam Community page.

The Forest is currently in Early Access on Steam, but is expected on PlayStation 4 this year.
