Helldivers bug wipes player progress if PS4 controller battery dies

Helldivers players are reporting a few bugs, but perhaps the most serious of which is one that'll erase your progress if your PS4 controller dies.

If your PlayStation 4 controller's battery dies while you're playing Helldivers, the game will erase your character progress and spawn in a new level one character when you plug the controller in. If you don't restart before getting to a checkpoint, the new character will overwrite the old one.

Developer Arrowhead has acknowledged this bug on Reddit and said that upcoming patch 1.03 will contain a fix for it, as well as plenty of other bugs.

According to some reports on the PlayStation forums, there are other causes for losing your character progress, though the controller one is mentioned the most.

Arrowhead did not specify a date for patch 1.03 as of yet, though it may be worth keeping an eye on the game's sub-Reddit, where the developer is active.
