Just Cause 3 director says it's "lighthearted", "campy" and "just silly"

Just Cause 3 sounds like it's going to be very much in the spirit of the earlier games, and we're pretty happy about that.

The Just Cause series has so far fronted ridiculous stories, characters and voice acting, but as far as Avalanche Studios is concerned that perfectly matches the over-the-top gameplay.

"I think it's lighthearted," game director Roland Lesterlin told GameReactor.

"From the very beginning we're always sitting there and checking out the world and saying ‘well, if I'm playing with physics and I've tethered someone up to a wall and then a car next to it and the whole thing explodes,' well it's just silly.

"And then if you had a serious story next to it, it just wouldn't really fit together, so our story has the same sort of humour in it. It allows us to be a little campy and fun."

Lesterlin also said that Just Cause is a lot of fun to make, and that he thinks that shows in the end product. Hit the link above for his full comments.

We expect Just Cause 3 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One at the end of the year.
