Nintendo president Satoru Iwata told shareholders recently that a port strike in the US is preventing a good supply of New 3DS units reaching stores.

The news comes via NintendoEverything's translation of the recent investor Q&A.

The strike has also impacted Amiibo stock, explaining Nintendo's cageyness regarding release dates.

Software has not been affected as it is flown into the US, Iwata added.
