Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag was originally codenamed Golden Age

Friday, 13 February 2015 13:02 GMT By Sherif Saed

Ubisoft has confirmed that Golden Age was the working title for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.

Update: Ubisoft has confirmed that Golden Age was the working title for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.

“Before we officially announce a game to the world, we use a working title or code name to refer to a project internally. Assassin’s Creed Golden Age was the internal name given to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. It is not the name of any future Assassin’s Creed title.”

Original story: Ubisoft has put out a recruitment brochure online that revealed a new Assassin’s Creed game is in development with the subtitle Golden Age.

Here are the images found in the brochure:

assassins creed golden age leak 1

assassins creed golden age leak 2

The PDF file is still available online, and you can download it from here.

This could be the unannounced PS3 and Xbox 360 title to be released later this year alongside Assassin’s Creed Victory, it could also be the actual name for Victory, since Ubisoft never confirmed that particular name, or maybe another thing for mobile.

Update: Upon further examination it would seem that there are ships to the right of the title, maybe this name was in reference to Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

Thanks, XboxyGen.
