Persona 5 protagonist's first summon is called Arsene

Persona 5 was partially inspired by Lupin III, so it's fitting that the protagonist's first summon is called Arsene.

The first Persona you'll have access to is almost certainly a nod to Arsene Lupin, the famous fictional thief on whom anime and manga character Lupin III was based.

The news comes via Gematsu, drawing from Japanese reports on this week's Famitsu, and accompanies several more interesting bits of data.

The protagonist is a second year high school student who moves to the city to live with friends of his parents, who run a coffee shop at the edge of town. Starting at a new school in the spring, he makes friends with other students who have similarly been displaced. Unlike earlier Persona 5 protagonists, this new fellow has a problem that he needs to overcome. He may appear docile, but this is a ruse.

The cat we saw in the first gameplay trailer is a key part of the story, and as the video suggested, can transform.

The battle system is still turn-based, but there are lots of other new features and changes. Randomly generated maps return, but there will be some set pieces designed to make sue of burglary gimmicks.
