Azure Striker Gunvolt has been downloaded 90,000 times

Mega Man-alike Gunvolt has shifted 90,000 copies across all territories.

Azure Striker Gunvolt is a side-scrolling action game from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune and developer Inti Creates, which is a team of former Capcom staffers also working with Inafune's Comcept on Mighty No. 9.

A 3DS exclusive, it launched in in August last year. Another Gunvolt title, Mighty Gunvolt, has been released; it was free to early Azure Striker adopters, but can be purchased separately.

In the Tweet below, Inti Creates says that "Gunvolt" has been downloaded 90,000 times; it's not clear if this refers to just one of the two games, or both.

Gunvolt gained a little notoriety after the protagonist's design was altered for the west; his braid was cut off and midriff covered up.
