Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have shipped 7.7 million units globally

The latest Pokemon games have, predictably, been selling like hot cakes.

The Pokemon Company has shipped 7.7 million units of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to retailers worldwide, according to Siliconera's translation of a Famitsu report.

It's not a sales figure, and we'll probably have to wait for a significant milestone or a Nintendo financial report for those, but its indicative of the not very surprising demand for the 3DS remake of the Game Boy Advance originals.

We do know that Pokemon ORAS sold 3 million copies across Japan and North America in its first three days on sale, tracking ahead of Pokemon X & Y.
