Final Fantasy 13's PC resolution patch drops next week

Soon, my bübchen. Soon you will be able to play Final Fantasy at resolutions higher than those found on large postage stamps.

Final Fantasy 13's promised resolutions patch is coming on December 11, according to a Steam community update.

The port arrived in October and was immediately criticised for locking the game at sub-HD resolutions - especially as modders quickly got around the lock.

To give Square Enix credit, it reacted about as quickly as you can expect from a publisher with little to no PC experience and probably not a heck of a lot of motivation to continuing development on a five year old game, promising back in November to update the RPG. So as of next week you can officially enjoy Lightning and co.'s adventures at 720, 1080 and beyond. Amaze.
