Dying Light may support Oculus Rift when it launches

Dying Light developer TechLand is hoping to enable Oculus Rift use in the zombie survival sim.

Dying Light is going to release in January, and Oculus Rift won't be ready for consumer launch by then. But when the headset does become available, TechLand wants to be on board.

"We're going to support the game after its release, and if they'll be ready, hopefully we'll be ready too," lead game designer Maciej Binkowski told Digital Spy

"We're most likely going to make sure our game has it because it seems like a perfect match."

TechLand has been working on Oculus Support for Dying Light for some time, which has involved a number of restarts as Oculus evolved its hardware and software.

"There's still a lot of technical difficulties, but we're working on it, and I'm really looking forward to playing Dying Light officially on this thing," Binkowski said.

Some of those technical difficulties arise from the fact that Dying Light was not developed specifically for Oculus Rift, he added.

TechLand also has Project Morpheus dev kits but could not confirm whether Sony's platform will be supported.
