Blizzard trademark adds new hope to BlizzCon 2014 reveal rumours

World of Warcraft and Hearthstone fans should keep an eye out for something called Eye of Azshara over the next few months.

Azshara is a World of Warcraft zone as well as the name of a character in the Warcraft lore, so we're intrigued to learn Blizzard has trademarked Eye of Azshara.

PCGamesN spotted the application, which makes it clear that the phrase refers to a new piece of video game software.

A World of Warcraft or Hearthstone update of some kind seems like the most obvious candidate for the trademark's subject, although we hold out a small glimmer of hope for something else related to Warcraft lore.

The site also reports that Blizzard has been mailing mysterious robot blueprints to Hearthstone community members, though, so it's probably going to be the new Hearthstone expansion. Makes sense; with Warlords of Draenor dropping this month, it doesn't seem like a good time to start hinting at the sixth WoW expansion.

Whatever it is, we might find out about it at BlizzCon this weekend, where a mysterious gap in the schedule has sparked hopes of some sort of surprise. Maybe we'll hear about the mysterious Overwatch, too.
