Lords of the Fallen guide: Locate Kaslo

There’s a checkpoint in the centre of the room. Do what you need to do there, then leave the area via the door on the right at the other side of the room. Head right to find 2 Infested and an audio note. In the corner is a chest containing a Warrior armour set. Go down the stairs, fight off the Marauder, and go through the red door at the bottom. There will be a group of Infested waiting for you inside, and in the adjacent room, you’ll find a Monk Staff in a chest to the left.

Proceed to the next room, deal with the Infested surprise attack, pick up the audio note and make your way through the next door.

In front of you and to the left is a statue that shares its platform with the Northern Monastery Wing Door Key. You can jump over to get the key that will allow you to collect the Shard of Heroes from the hidden corridor mentioned earlier. Light armour will make you more agile, so if you’re struggling to get across, a change of clothes may be in order.

Head to the bottom of the stairs ahead of you, grabbing the audio note on the way, fight the 2 Infested and open the chest here to pick up the Rogue armour set. Leave the area via the door to the left, and pop over to the checkpoint on the left. Dispatch the Infected to the right then go down the stairs to the courtyard below, where another pair of Infected and a Marauder will attack you. Once you’ve taken care of them, cross the courtyard and go up the stairs. Note that at the top of the left staircase is a Rogue, and at the top of the right staircase is a Marauder. Kill them both and yank the levers to open the gate below.

Go through the gate and offer your own special brand of medical assistance to the Monk beyond, which basically entails offering to lop off his hand, telling him to find someone with a doctorate and giving him a potion. This little exchange will nab you The Butcher weapon and 500 XP.

Head past the Monk and through the door to the left where you’ll find a chest containing Hot Blood head and chest armour, and a couple of spiders that’ll need a bit more than a rolled up newspaper to get rid of. Once you’re done here, make your way down the stairs until you run into an Infested. The room here is home to 2 Infested and nothing more, so it’s up to you if you want to venture inside.

Continue down the stairs to the left and through the door. Follow the path and you’ll come across an Infested playing dead and a Rogue that will pelt you with ranged attacks, so prep your shield or be ready to roll. Head up the stairs and through into the rooms at the top. In the second room, you’ll be immediately set upon by a Rogue, and an Infested is lying in wait (literally) on the other side of the room. You can use a shard to open the chest in here, next to the locked door, to obtain an Attribute Point Shard and Live Elements armour.

Go back to the other side of the room to pick up the audio note, then pop up the stairs over in the left corner, where a Marauder awaits you at the top. There are 2 possible paths up here. The stairs to the left lead to a bridge holding Infested and a chest containing the Symmetry armour set but we need to head down the stairs the right to progress, so grab the armour if you want to then double back and down the right-hand staircase.

Soon after heading this way, you’ll trigger a cutscene, after which you’ll have a Gauntlet that allows you to perform ranged attacks. Use it to take down the chap in front of you,being wary of his own ranged attacks. You’ll notice a lever on the left side of the gate here. Give it a yank to open the gate. The gate is a shortcut back to the area that you just came from so it’s useful to have it open.

Grab the audio note from the left of where you received the Gauntlet, and take care of the Rogue waiting at the bottom of the pathway. Take the staircase to the left and head over to the checkpoint to trigger a cutscene, after which you can either pull the lever next to Yetka to proceed to the next boss fight, or go and have a look for this dagger she’s so keen on for some XP. Dagger it is!

Use the checkpoint to save, take care of the Infested at the top of the stairs and pick up the Scratch Fist from the corner to the right. Head down the stairs to the left, taking out the Marauder and picking up the audio note, then open the chest over to the right for a Fire Resistance Shard and Lethal Secret short sword.

At the side of the room is another set of stairs. Make your way up here to find another chest containing a Pain Hammer, Live Elements chest armour and a Magic Resistance Shard. Head over to the lever on the other side of the room and give it a pull, opening up another shortcut to where you obtained up the Gauntlet. Go down the next set of stairs and steel yourself for a rigorous battle against a giant spider. It will attack by jumping towards you, releasing poisonous gas, and laying eggs that will spawn smaller spiders, ready to join the fray. When it’s pooping out eggs, take the opportunity to hack at its backside. Once it’s been exterminated, crack open the chest here for a Magic Energy Shard and a Spike Greathammer.

Double back to where you picked up the Lethal Secret short sword because we need to find the Tower Key. In this area, head over to the edge where the wall is in dire need of repair. You’ll spot some platforms below, to the left of a corpse. You need to manoeuvre yourself over to the left so that you drop off onto the platform below that holds the Tower Key.

Once you’ve got the key, drop down to platform below, go down the staircase to the right, taking care of the Infested and Rogue, and use the Tower Key to open the door to the castle. Grab the audio note on your way through here, and be wary of an attack from an Infested to the left and Marauder straight ahead. Just beyond the Marauder is a chest containing a Fate Axe.

Take the staircase to the right, head right at the top, and deal with the Rogue (using a ranged attack) and 2 Infested. After they’ve been dispatched, carry on to find a chest that holds Prejudice Staff and Small Sealed Rune. Now head in the opposite direction to the doorway concealing an Infested. Kill it, then pop up the stairs where you’ll find Yetka’s Dagger. However, there’s a Marauder standing in the way and 3 Infested lying on the floor, so deal with them in whatever order works for you, and collect Yetka’s Dagger. Pop open the chest here for Hot Blood wrist and leg armour. Before you leave, ascend the staircase here and unlock the door at the top with the Tower Key to create another shortcut.

Make your way back to Yetka at the checkpoint and trade the dagger for the Key to the Catacombs. This is a fairly high-level area that you may want to avoid for now.

Time for a boss battle! Pull the lever by Yetka to open the gate, that will immediately shut behind you, so there’s no going back. You’ll be attacked by a Marauder and Rogue, and as soon as they go down, you’ll be thrown into the boss fight without a second’s respite.
