Minecraft movie project taps Night at the Museum director

Minecraft movie producers are said to be in talks with Shawn Levy to direct the adaptation of Mojang's sandbox.

The Minecraft movie is the product of a partnership between Warner Bros. and Mojang, and is not expected until 2016 at the earliest.

The project is still in the very early stages and Deadline's report of Warner Bros.'s interest in Levy as director is the first hint we've had of any talent attached to the production.

Levy was responsible for Big Fat Liar, Just Married, Date Night and The Internship in addition to the Night at the Museum series.
