Here's how Halo: The Master Chief Collection's new leaderboards work

Halo: The Master Chief Collection introduces a new scoring system, rivals and more. See how it all comes together on the leaderboards.

Because Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes four games, and a heck of a lot of multiplayer content. In the video below, 343 Industries senior designer Max Szlagor explains how the developer has created a new leaderboard system to match.

That's not the only tricky design problem 343 has had to work out in putting together the bundle; it's hoping to solve the issue of matchmaking across so many possibilities via playlists and custom games. That might sound restrictive, but there'll be 12 Halo: The Master Chief Collection playlists at launch, which is not too bad.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is due on Xbox One on November 11 in North America and November 14 in the UK and beyond.
