Yogventures backers to receive free copy of EverQuest Next: Landmark

The Yogcast team has announced backers of its dramatically failed Kickstarter project, Yogventures, will receive a free copy of Landmark.

Landmark, formerly known as EverQuest Next: Landmark, is the second game backers have been awarded since Yogventures went t*ts up.

Gamespot reports Yogcast intends to give more free games to its backers.

Yogventures was a great disappointment to its many backers. The project raised over $500,000, but was cancelled in August. The story of why this happened is a complicated one rife with conflicted reports, but it seems the lack of game development experience at both developer Winterkewl Games and Yogcast was part of the problem, as well as misunderstandings about the roles of both companies and even paid contractors allegedly legging it with no work turned in.

It and Aereal inspired a pretty funny - but grim - Dorkly strip on the risk of backing Kickstarters.

Yogcast is also sponsoring a free trial of Landmark if you didn't back Yogventures but would like to check Sony Onlinje Entertainment's sandbox out.
