Please stop teasing us about Destiny, everyone

Destiny fans only have to survive one more weekend without the shared-worlds shooter, but Bungie and friends are really not making it easy.

Destiny launches on PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on September 9. For most of us, that means four more sleeps.

Most retailers seem to have their launch day stock on hand already, as you'd expect. Indeed, some have started sending shipping notifications. I'm pretty sure these are automated, though, and the result of processing done ahead of the parcels actually going out the door. Curses!

Some retailers are being a bit coy about the wait:

If I were less professional GAME Westwood, I'd call you a rude name. But even Bungie is enjoying driving gamers nuts with anticipation:

HILARIOUS. LOOK HOW AMUSED I AM.

Retail employees are getting in on the act, posting images of stock and displays in situ - check out a couple of examples.

Lead UI designed David Candland posted this image of Bungie making Destiny an "official" piece of its history:

Finally, and perhaps most teasingly at all, firing up the updated Destiny companion app and searching for know Bungie employees, like Urk and Deej (community managers Eric Osborne and David Dague) reveals staff are already playing the game, although we understand the public servers haven't been switched on. The is an image of Urk, from Imgur.

When I fired up the app myself a few minutes ago, Urk was at level 19, with 1070 grimoire points. I want to be level 19 with 10701 grimoire points too. My heart is breaking. I'm going to go foetal for the entirety of the weekend and pray Tuesday comes quickly. I can't handle this.
