Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will have a whole season of DLC in addition to a special pre-order bonus pack.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel follows in the footsteps of Borderlands 2 by fronting a season pass, 2K and Gearbox announced over the weekend.

The pass will go for $30 and include four DLC packs adding characters, missions and "experiences" to the core game. Since each pack will retail for $10, you'll save about 25%.

No further details of the DLC were announced.

In addition to the four season pass packs, 2K Games announced a pre-order bonus add-on - the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit. This will be offered for sale at a later date, but won't be included in the season pass. We don't know what it is, alas.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in mid-October.
