Destiny Limited and Ghost Edition pre-orders being cancelled

Destiny fans are out of luck, with a second retailer now joining in on pre-order cancellations, and the Limited Edition also going out of stock.

Destiny Ghost edition

Destiny fans hoping to get their hands one one of Destiny's special editions are likely to be disappointed.

It's not just that most retailers are completely out of stock of the very rare Ghost Edition; the more common Limited Edition is now also in short supply on all platforms.

Even if you think you beat the rush you might be have your hopes crushed; following on from Walmart's cancellation of many Destiny Ghost Edition pre-orders, Best Buy has also begun notifying purchasers that it will be unable to fulfil orders.

A quick browse of the /r/DestinytheGame today turned up at least half a dozen such disappointments; here's one example of the email Best Buy is sending out.

Destiny has three special editions. The least expensive and most easily obtained is the Digital Guardian Edition, which is only available via the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live Store and includes an expansion pass and various in-game goodies.

Next up is the Limited Edition, which comes with all the digital content plus a steelbook case and a Guardian Folio packed with paper materials. Finally, the most rare and most expensive is the Ghost Edition, including all of the above plus Golden Age relics and a Ghost replica.

"I don't care," you're saying. "I don't need a special edition." No? Well, watch this. Yeah. Yeahhh. No wonder they're going for ridiculous sums on auction sites. If my Limited Edition pre-order is cancelled I'll probably march down to EB Games and start fires, to be honest.
