Destiny beta now offline, opens back to Xbox owners on Wednesday

Monday, 21st July 2014 16:58 GMT By Sherif Saed

As promised the Destiny beta has gone offline while Bungie does maintenance work ahead of reopening the flood gates later in the week.

The developer posted what your screen will look like when the beta goes offline, there looks to be a queue too apparently.

The beta comes back online Wednesday 23 before finally closing on July 27, and this time it will be open for both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. In the meantime, you can check out our comprehensive beta guide, which will surely come in handy for when it comes back online.

    I hope the full release has a better difficulty level than what was featured in the beta and also that AI isn’t the brightest: just rush up to them and kill them before they react. I don’t know if that can be fixed. Borderlands nails difficulty and loot.

    The bigger bosses, are bullet sponges. PVP is standard, features overpowered weapons or overused, i could manage/cope with that. In terms of multiplayer it does things more naturally and quicker than GTA 5 in the moment, e.g. tedious load times.

    @Topic: IT HURTS!

    @LB: TRY THE HARDER DIFFICULTY

    I actually doubt that you have:

    a.) Ever played Halo
    b.) Played the beta for longer than an hour….or even played it at all

    @Legendaryboss

    the beta features the very beginning of the game with low level enemies and starter guardians. these areas are supposed to make you familiar with the game mechanics and not to instantly challenge you (you know….it´s crazy but it´s just like that in borderlands as well, no wait…holy crap, i think…it´s like that in EVERY game).

    turning the difficulty up from the menues changes the game and the enemy AI drastically. that´s probably something you haven´t even figured out yet, since, based on your judgement, i believe that you have barely played the beta – if at all. some proof (something you always demand from others) would be handy to show your credibility, otherwise, based on your very own mantra, your opinion is irrelevant anyway. no proof=irrelevant? right? that´s the LB tune. you should dance to it as well.

    so let´s just focus on the facts please :D

    the AI is super smart. everyone with a tiny little bit of gaming experience can see that. they flank, avoid grenades etc etc. the bosses are smart as well. they react to every single bullet shot at them, looking for you and where you are standing.

    it´s classic bungie stuff and i think that we will see even more improved AI the closer you´ll get to the end game, levelling up.

    you can´t blame the game for your lazyness. you have to play it to judge it.

    Much like in Reach, the AI works when you’re in mid to close range. But once you start sniping from a great distance they just sit there like a bunch of lemons. Even the one you actually shot, turns towards you but thats it. Waits to get finished off.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOO

    Hey, what’s up with the A.I. complaints? the lesser guys are obviously cannon fodder, but elite enemies like captains actually takes cover when they’re hurt, and “rush up to them” is NOT a good idea.

    The A.I. is really good from what i’ve played.

    @Obernox I meant to say you can do that with grunts, they aren’t the smartest of bunch. In fact attacking from afar they don’t do much. The elite enemies and bosses are a different story: bullet sponges, which is why they are the smartest of the bunch so rushing in isn’t a good strategy unless you have powerful equipment, which I do.

    All of this is done on my lonesome, on the hardest difficulty, which makes the feat all the more impressive!
