Is Destiny multiplayer as good as Halo?

Thursday, 17th July 2014 18:00 GMT By Matt Martin

We take on a 12 player PvP multiplayer map and ask whether it’s as thrilling as the Halo experience.

This skirmish takes place on the Venus map as we capture territories with 6 versus 6. Watch the video below to get our early verdict on the multiplayer game.

No, but the coop shared world is awesome and in itself worth everyone’s money and time.

Since 343 industries understands game play is king the next Halo and the master chief collection will be 60 fps so no chance in hell.
Its good news for xbox one owners that bungie isn’t making halo anymore or they wouldn’t be getting 60 fps halo.

Basing it off the alpha? Not even close… Downloading the beta right now so I’ll reserves judgement.

Bungie is in a better place to make a successor to Halo since they made created and nurtured the franchise, however Destiny is not the same type of shooter its like comparing Uncharted to the Last of Us. 343 is just doing a copy and paste job with Master Chief and 4 quite as good as the Bungie Halo games. Halo 5 is the true test and the of the future and direction of the franchise. I look forward to what 343 has to offer with Halo 5 and I hope they succeed.

halo 4 was a disappointment. not a bad game at all, a good one even but not really a halo game…that´s how i felt about it at least.

Yeah, it is hard to make a game your own when a major studio has already put their stamp on. Bungie as the creators has no fear of making changes and trying to evolve the series.343 on the other hand feels like they are treading on something precious to Xbox gamers. 343 needs to be bold and not worry about hurting gamers feelings and try to move the series forward.

I enjoyed the alpha overall, though found the PVP multiplayer to be lacking. 60fps on current platforms would really help – overall it felt a bit generic, and a little janky due to the frame rate.

so, i have played the competitive mp for quite some time now.

it´s rocksolid, this much i can already tell but the beta is just a beta, eventhough it is a great one, there is only one gamemode, only a few maps.

you can´t really judge it already.

a lot of stuff, weapons, abilities, armor sets, maps, vehicles etc etc. aren´t even in the beta obviously.

i think that it is superhard to top a game as balanced and good as halo, especially if you have so much more different weapons in destiny to worry about. halo always was very focussed on its basic elements, the main formula.

i was a bit disappointed with the destiny mp after the first few matches but the more i play, the more i enjoy it. it´s pretty damn good actually and i can´t wait for more modes.

the raid has been plain awesome. looking forward to moe of that as well.

i think it´s great for the playstation to finally have a game like this.

i mean, i like killzone and i love resistance but in the mp shooter department the 360 just was the better option, mainly because of halo.

to me it is the best shooter you can get on the consoles and if any game could top it or at least go head to head with it, it will probably be destiny.

this game is a huge deal for the playstation.

No, not even close. It does nothing new. THe only thing this game has over halo is how pretty it is.
