Don’t freak out – you’re not alone. Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn is taking an eight hour downtime today.
The lengthy outage, which kicks off during prime gaming time on the US west coast, has been scheduled to allow Square Enix to roll out the huge Defenders of Eorzea update (patch 2.3).
Following FF14’s maintenance period, Lodestone portal and the Libra Eorzea companion app will both go offline for a further five hours to update to version 1.3.0, introducing new items and quests.
Defenders of Eorzea includes loads of new quests and dungeons as well as new features like chocobo training, character rooms, and new PvP frontlines.
Final Fantasy 14: A rRealm Reborn is available on PC, PlayStation 3 and PS4.
