Sleeping Dogs my be getting the HD treatment by Square Enix if a pre-order listing on ShopTo is any indication.

Spotted by gamrReview and posted on Gematsu, the game is listed for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is down for a November 21 release.

The listing makes no mention of the inclusion of previously released DLC, but if the listing is indeed accurate, we expect it to be included as with most HD revamps.

Sleeping Dogs had plenty of DLC released for it, so an HD version would be a great deal.

The majority of pre-order bonuses were eventually released as the Dragon Master Packm with the ANZ and Japanese Presel Packs not included in the bundle.

In August 2012, five packs were released, along with a High Resolution Texture Pack for PC. In October, seven packs were released along with the PC-only Valve T-Shirt Pack. The following month, four more were released with the Zodiac Tournament Pack landing in December.

Finally, between January and Marcy 2013, five DLC offerings were released.

Released in August 2012, Sleeping Dogs started life as an IP called Black Lotus before Activision signed on to publish the United Front Games title as True Crime: Hong Kong. Activision cancelled the title and resulting in Square Enix picking it up.

This was a good title. I might consider getting it again.

@Talkar Yeah I don’t get the HD bit in the listing as it was a rather fine looking game on consoles already – plus the PC version was given a high-texture pack so I dunno how much better it can look on PC than it already does.

I guess, maybe, it’s just to distinguish it for the new-gen systems? Of course it could be a preliminary title entry.

Fantastic game. I am unsure why it needs an HD master. I haven’t played the console verson but on PC it was drooltastic.

In many ways Sleeping Dogs was a better title than GTA, in terms of satisfying combat and jumping from car to car. It only it has multiplayer mode with those elements.

@5 in many ways it was better than GTA IV – fixed

It looks like another definitive edition like the Tomb Raider. I don’t know if it will turn out that good as Lara. First November is a tough month and second, Lara was a nice option for the consoles in a period where there was not so much to choose from, and the tomb raider name stood out pretty nicely. This time around the holiday season will be packed with games., and also plenty of remakes – the last of us, metro redux, halo: master chief..

@Stephany Nunneley Whats more, HD is just a term that defines a resolution, and the PC version is capable of running at both HD, and resolutions that are above HD.. This is very confusing :/

I don’t want HD remasters dammit. Give me new IPs or sequels.

This doesn’t need an ‘HD’ version, Last of Us doesn’t need an ‘HD’ version – stop making next gen remakes of games which didn’t come out that long ago. Updating old and loved games is fine but seriously?

I will heap scorn upon these lazy cash-ins…

Right up till Bioware release the updated Mass Effect trilogy…

    Plz Bioware!

Yeah I don’t get this current trend of announcing “HD” versions of current gen (PS3/X360) games to next gen (PS4/XB1) when they’re clearly already HD. I think a new buzz word is in order. I’d rather hear about “next-gen port” or something like that. I don’t know.

Fantastic game! Played through a couple of times, not sure about a hd remake tho, surely it would be better to make a sleeping dogs 2?!

It’s hilarious that some of you consider 640p and 720p as ‘HD’, anything below 1080p should be left in the dust as standard definition at this point.

Should fork up £400 for a gaming rig, you could max out everything if you are willing to play at 640p/720p.
Obviously you wouldn’t if you had the choice though and thats the only reason you think its acceptable, because you have no choice.

    @Sham8nix

    Yeah, awesome game.
Developing a sequel would cost too much and take up to much time, whereas they could just milk this and round up some more dough in an easy cash grab.
If people buy, they just do it more.
It seems this gen the console gamers care more about graphics than the ‘master race’.
Otherwise, these ‘HD upgrades’ from games which came out 2~ years ago would be irrelevant.

Yeh it seems that all this Companies are jumping on the hd remake cash wagon! Am looking forward to last of us “hd” remake as never played it but aside from that give me some new games!

Really, they gave this away for free on Gold not so long ago. Play it for free or pay probably full price for slightly improved graphics. Sick of these HD remasters for nextgen. Give us something new. Halo collection i can understand, 4 games on one disc, all the maps and tons of extras like custom, halo beta etc.
I’d like a MW collection, the single player was more fun on those ones, the maps were better, and stuff like Chaos, survival on all maps from all 3 games would be awesome, esp if you could customize some stuff.
When its one game though that isnt very old, i dont see the point

Sleeping Dogs on PC has a additional texture pack that you can download that isnt on the last gen consoles, only on PC. So HD in this case is probably not referencing the resolution but the HD texture pack the previous console versions lacked. With the texture pack, the game was just beautiful.
