God of War boss now working with Titanfall developer

Former God of War creative director Stig Asmussen has turned up at Respawn Entertainment.

Asmussen joined Respawn after leaving SCE Santa Monica a few months ago, he said in an email to Polygon.

Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella also confirmed the news, saying Asmussen is working as a game director.

As Asmussen said he's not working on Titanfall, this suggests Respawn has at least one other project in the works at present - perhaps the expected sequel, which is likely to bring Titanfall to PS4.

Asmussen is rumoured to have been at the helm of a cancelled SCE Santa Monica Studio project that was shelved prior to a round of lay-offs. Whisperers suggest this project's extended development hell explains the regular gap in Sony's triple-A first-party line up. However, VG247's own sources have dismissed a variety of related rumours.

Respawn is an independent developer although it has a very friendly relationship with EA - somewhat controversially.
