Uncharted 4: A Thief's End action and gameplay discussed by Naughty Dog

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will bring back Naughty Dog's love of explosive set-pieces and roller coaster action, but the team has revealed that it's drawn inspiration from the Last of Us, and will use Drake's character as fuel for the action.

Over on PS Blog, Sony hosted this interview with Naughty Dog's Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann.

Straley said, "we're taking what we've learned from Uncharted 2, evolved it through The Last of Us and bringing it back, but we're still keeping that pacing and the rollercoaster, but at the same time it has to be driven by what's happening with the character at that moment."

Druckman added, "From a character standpoint, the tech really allowed us to get more subtlety and you're seeing hints of that in the trailer; how much we could show pain or grimaces, or - you know it's a subtle touch - but as [Drake] raises his eyebrows, you know the colour of your skin changes as the blood flows away from that compression. All those things let a realistic character become much more grounded and much more believable."

Gameplay is also said to be "deeper and richer," and is still going to be an edge of your seat rollercoaster, but delivering a story that keeps players invested. Nate's core move set will also expand, with more combat and traversal options.
