PlayStation TV has been given an autumn release window for the UK and Europe, along with price information.

PS TV was showcased as part of Sony’s E3 2014 conference on Monday, along with the autumn release window announcement. You can watch the presentation above to get more details.

The 2.5 x 4.1 inch device enables users to stream PS3 games and multimedia content to their TV, and can be controlled using Sony’s DualShock 3 pads.

Sony has confirmed to Eurogamer that the £84.99 / €99 device won’t come with a bundled PS3 controller. Users will need to buy one separately.

What do you think about the lack of controller in the box? Let us know below.

Meanwhile, check out our round-up of everything from Sony’s E3 2014 conference.

The price is competitive for what it is.

Although it does defeat the purpose of the PS Now and HD Remakes if you can play PS3 games on it.

@jonnymelamet: You can’t play PS3 games on it. It’s technically a PS Vita with no screen and no input devices, but an HDMI-out. So it can do remote play and PS Now as soon as PS Now gets available for PS Vita.
but the catalogue of PS1, PSP, PS Vita games and Ports/HD remakes of PS2 games for the PS Vita is vast, as it is already for the Vita.

But they should definately patch Uncahrted and Gravity Rush to be available for the Vita/Playstation TV. That would give a lot of more value to this device for 99€/$.

DS3′s are cheap enough, new or second hand.
Hell, I’ve got 5 of the damn things, so this’d put them to good use.

Just need a second TV now.

Does this come with sort of bog standard remote then? If not, how exactly are you supposed to use it without a Dualshock 3?

Just to clear up what I meant; say you just wanted to use it for multimedia not games, Netflix etc. is there a simple remote included to use for those functions?

@Madlink: I suppose you are thinking about a very basic such as the Apple TVs remote. A PS3 remote should work. I don’t know if a simplier version of a PS3 remote than the DS3 is coming, though.

Happy with that and glad it has no dualshock 3 pushing the price up.

I will be using mine in another room for Remote Play of PS4 so will use one of my Dualshock 4′s with it

Can you still put vita cartridges on this device, or just digital only?, if it is the later than the former, i rather pass on this device.
