Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs has sold-through 4 million units in its first week according to the publisher.

“The results we achieved in the first week of launch are amazing and prove Ubisoft’s commitment to developing new blockbuster IP and thoroughly new-gen experiences,” said Darren Bowen, UK Sales Director.

The game was released on Xbox One, PC, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 last week with Ubisoft stating it’s the best-selling game in the company’s history.

The Wii U version of the game is due “this fall”.

Reviews of the game have been very positive. If you’re one of the four million playing the game now and need a little help, why not take a peek at our comprehensive walkthrough.

No, reviews have not been “very” positive. They’re mild. It barely broke the 80 mark on ps4 and it sits at a 78 out of a hundred for xbox one. Jesus, if they lod so much, it means we’re gonna get Watch Dogs games till we die of old age.

I don’t like how people see anything underneath a 9 or 10 as low scores. It’s like the rest of the scale means nothing to anyone. 78 to 80 is great. Hell I gave the game 8 out of 10. It’s good. It’s got bugs but it really is fun.

Damn! That did far better than I expected! Very impressive stats. Now, this cements the Watch Dogs/Classic Ubisoft milking that is likely to follow, expect a Watch Dogs 2 announcement at somepoint. That’s good they need something to replace Assassins Creed when that’s milked to high hell.

But on another note, they said 6 million in sales would be ideal for them. So it seems they will get there

Fantastic. I can’t wait to see what they do it with it. Just like the original Assassin Creed it had a lot of rough edges but lots of potential and now we have Black Flag which I enjoyed immensely.

Does anyone know if this includes digital copies? If not, 4 million and 1 at least.

Sounds like they’ll get the 6 mil they wanted quite easily.

I am excited to see how this series evolves. We saw how far Assassin’s Creed has come, and Black Flag is one of the best games of the past 12 months.

The reviews have been good considering it isn’t a GTA game. You can basically add fourteen points to the Metacritic for that.

Gaming sites rely on hits and customer feedback, Rockstar fans are very vocal that they will boycott your site if you don’t love Rockstar games. Prime example of this was the turd known as Max Payne 3.

I got it as a gift on PS4, would have waited to get it otherwise. I have to say though I have really enjoyed what I have played so far. It’s not perfect or as pretty as I was expecting, but it’s a good looking game and fun. I wish that Ubisoft would have allowed PC users the ability to get that same look from the 2012 reveal though.

I guess some people think 7-8 / 10 is low. Man those people has high standards… For me 6.5/10 can still be a good game, score is lower due probably other technical issues or unpolished, but if the story is good, that’s great to play.

Many people judge by graphic to defines what is a good or bad games… that is not how games work. I would rate SNES games 9/10 over today games. Why? Because of the contents.

As many said it’s clearly overhyped.
It’s a good game, but the city is rather boring and repetitive. Technically i expected much more.

Sidemissions are pretty lame copy paste…. Los Santos set very high standards, and WD cant hold up the comparison.
Its personal taste, but i also not like the games soundtrack…. i appreciate way more GTA radio stations and those from Saints Row.

Hype sells dear Ubisoft…. and no real new games to compete with WD. Smart choice releasing the game this period

    Why is this news?

We surely ALL know by now that hype sells….. These numbers have nothing whatsoever to do with quality or satisfaction.
