Cosmic DJ: a rhythmic acid trip of dancing dogs, big beats, and mouthy muppets

Do you like rhythm games that makes you feel like a '60s acid casualty? Devolver Digital hopes so, as it's just brought Cosmic DJ to Steam Early Access. It's developed by GI33k, and for all those psychedelic visuals, it aims to encourage the creation of your own beats to drop online. You're going to want to watch the annoucement trailer.

"Music fans of all skill levels can hone their musical ability using an intuitive tap-based sequencer and the precision grid sequencer, then share those epic anthems with the world," says the PR bumpf.

Cosmic DJ has a campaign mode which charges you with exploring the galaxy to repair "Jamtennas," and "bring musical harmony back to the galaxy." I'm not sure where muppets enter into the equation.

Interestingly, this is GI33ks first game project, the company previously having been a sound design studio for the video game industry.

Cosmic DJ is available right now on Steam Early Access and the Humble Store. It'll cost £4.79, though if you grab it now you'll get 10% off that.
