Pixel Heart is a project spearheaded by Charles Mounal, a former Ubisoft associate producer who worked on Just Dance and created the unique shooter White.

Mounal's ambition is to create a series of web documentaries tracking six talented creators from around the world as they work on individual elements of game development - graphics, gameplay, and so on. At the conclusion of the project, a game jam will gather 100 developers and produce 12 games.

The core developers announced so far are Mark Healey (LittleBigPlanet), Tetsuya Mizuguchi of Japan (Child of Eden), Robin Hunicke (Journey), Edmundo Bordeu (Zeno Clash); Eyram Tawia (of Ghana developer Leti Arts). A sixth developer, from India, is yet to be confirmed.

Pixel Heart is looking for €60,000 to fund the project, which will include the filming of the documentaries in seven countries as well as the cost of the jam and development in general. Contributions can be made through Ulule, a French crowdfunding site that is open to international backers, and rewards include various bundles of the films and games.
