Rhode Island using $2.4 million in state funds on 38 Studios investor payment

Rhode Island will make its first payment to today in order to pay back investors behind 38 Studios' $75 million in guaranteed loans. The interest payment comes to $2.4 million, according to the Providence Journal, this is on top of the $10 million in principal and interest the state had to pay last November. State legislators are still trying to lessen obligations or avoid payment and The House Oversight Committee has relaunched an investigation into the bonds while the lawsuit against Schilling and others involved in the deal continues.
