Xbox One fan’s vision for console UI noticed by Microsoft

Wednesday, 30th April 2014 20:30 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Xbox One fan PrimeGhost548 created a mock-up video of a Xbox One console UI showing how it would look if modified with themes, and backgrounds obtained from Achievements. An option to import images from OneDrive and customization options for brightness, transparency and colors was also outlined. It was posted on the Xbox One sub-Reddit and Microsoft’s Major Nelson was impressed, stating: “Nice work. Very nice. I’ve shared this around. Thanks.” Pretty cool. Thanks, Eurogamer.

    now this looks quite awesome.

i wonder how it works performance wise, when a game is using up all of the consoles resourced and you go to the home screen at the same time

Really nice work on this. I hope devs and publishers and platform giants start taking more ideas from the community instead of just remaining this weird silent internal-only think tank. If you want ideas for future updates, just ask us!

It’s probably not a bad idea to gather up this support in one place too, to get Microsoft more on board with this kind of customization. There’s a petition here to that end:
