Gematsu reports Yo-Kai Watch shipments increased from 500,000 two months ago thanks to inetrest sparked by an anime adaptation, which began airing in January,

Yo-Kai Watch, previously anglicised as Youkai Watch, is Pokémon-like catch-'em-all RPG in which players use a magic watch to capture creatures and spirits from Japanese folklore. It released in Japan last July; we're hoping Level-5 might bring the 3DS RPG west, since it made a trademark and polled interest.

Yo-Kai Watch 2 was announced this month, and releases in Japan in July.
