3rd Robot Wars Z: Jigoku-Hen topped the Media Create charts with 270,669 units sold on both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, coming in in first and second on the list, respectively. Titanfall also debuted ninth on the chart, moving 10,478 units on Xbox 360.

3rd Robot Wars Z

Yo-kai Watch came in third place with 33,833 sales, bringing the sales total to 720,220 units sold since its July 11, 2013 release. The bump may have something to do with Yo-kai Watch 2 on the horizon, continued popularity of the animated series, or both.

Here’s the full software chart for April 7-13. Life-to-date sales are in parentheses:

Hardware sales declined for a second week straight, after surging in March due to the now implemented sales tax increase.

While sales were down all around, the position of each available system stayed in the same position as last week.

The release of Titanfall didn’t help Xbox 360 move any consoles, so it seems obvious those who already owned the system purchased the Respawn Entertainment title. Still, ninth place on the software chart is nothing to sneeze at for Microsoft, especially in a Nintendo and Sony dominated region.

Here’s the full hardware chart for Week 14. Last week’s sales are in parenthesis:

  • PSV – 24,078 (25,017)
  • 3DS LL – 17,291 (22,947)
  • PS4 – 13,034 (13,401)
  • PS3– 7,305 (10,871)
  • 3DS – 6,271 (9,091)
  • Wii U – 5,512 (7,962)
  • PSP – 2,027 (2,892)
  • PSVTV – 1,220 (1,371)
  • 360 – 229 (276)

Thanks, Gematsu.

3rd Robot Vita numbers are very good indeed, since the franchise was mainly on PS3 generally.

Great hold for Vita. Vita topping the sales chart reminds me of the weeks when 3DS outsold it 30:1. How the times have changed…

Wii U on a stretcher, like always. PS4 hovering around 10k, as expected. Home console market is pretty weak there.

PS Vita at 25k+ = 3DS at 23k+. This was unexpected, Vita will take over 3DS in the June/July and have a hold until heavy hitters arrive for 3DS.

Vita is doing fine, 3DS is not like it was last year. The PS4? Bad. The PS3? Meh. The Wii U? Call an ambulance.

I had absolutely no idea Titanfall was launching in Japan for Xbox360, seems like it did little to boost hardware sales :D

Not happening by the looks of the schedule. Yokai Watch 2 incoming on 3DS in June. Another franchise that Level-5 will milk till the cow dies.

Yokai Watch 2? Da hell? Is that already a thing? Didn’t the prequel launch last year in that same timeframe?

My word, the COD approach for Japan.

Its roughly 11 months and 20 days from YW1 to 2. Not to mention YW2 will be a dual release like Pokemon ones.
    Gotta milk ‘em all, Yomon.
