Square Enix shutters India office

Square Enix had opened a development studio in India over a year ago with the aim to develop mobile games. Now the Japanese giant has closed the studio's doors without having released any games.

MCV reports (via MCV India) that the office employed only six staff members, all of whom are laid off.

The studio was set-up to help Square develop mobile titles for the ever growing Indian marketplace, and the staff members were said to have been working with several developers across India on various projects, none of which has come to fruition.
