Child of Light's soundtrack composed by Canadian artist Coeur de Pirate

Child of Light's soundtrack will be composed by Canadian artist Coeur de Pirate in a partnership between Ubisoft and le Cirque du Soleil Media.

Coeur de Pirate composed an "intimate and nostalgic soundtrack" for the game with Montreal-based Bratislava Symphony Orchestra.

“Music is one of the most important ways to communicate emotion to players,” said Patrick Plourde, creative director, Ubisoft. “The music of Coeur de Pirate is fresh, romantic and optimistic, a perfect match for what we wanted to express with Child of Light. I am extremely honored that she wanted to join us on this adventure.”

Ubisoft called the soundtrack collaboration a "perfect match to expand Child of Light’s universe and design."

Child of Light is a reimagining of classic fairytales set against watercolor artworks of The Golden Age of Illustration. It's described as a playable poem where players take on the role of Aurora, a young princess who must win back the sun, the moon and the stars held captive by the mysterious Queen of the Night.

The download title will be made available April 30 for PC, through PSN for PlayStation 3, PS4 the eShop for Wii U and Xbox Live for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

It will run you £11.99, and a boxed Deluxe Edition will also be available at retail on PS3 and PS4 as a cross-buy and on PC and includes a unique artbook, Igniculus key ring and other exclusive content.
