Murdered: Soul Suspect studio lets 14 employees go as part of "necessary restructuring"

Murdered: Soul Suspect studio Airtight Games has let 14 employees go as part of "necessary restructuring," the firm's president Jim Deal has confirmed.

Speaking in a statement to IGN, Deal said the staffers were let go yesterday afternoon.

"This restructuring is part of the normal ebb and flow of game production. Existing projects are on schedule and Airtight Games is actively seeking partners for exciting upcoming projects," he said.

Portal developer Kim Swift, who worked at the company on the Ouya-exclusive Soul Fjord and Quantum Conundrum left the company to join Amazon Game Studios, it was confirmed today.

It is unknown whether her departure is related to the lay-offs, but "normal ebb and flow of game production" sounds like it had more to do with the letting go of contract workers, but we could be wrong.

Murdered: Soul Suspect will be released on June 3 in North America and June 6 in Europe on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One
