Forza Motorsport 5 was uses as a showcase for DirectX 12 at GDC last week, and footage of Microsoft’s presentation has emerged online.

Thanks, Bright Side Network.

The clip shows Turn 10 software architect Chris Tector discussing the DirectX 12 demo, which ran at 1080p and 60 frames-per-second. The API is said to be less processor-intensive than alternatives, leaving more power for developers to use elsewhere.

why not testing it on a gtx 460 i mean testing it on a GTX Titan does not say much over how good the new API will be cos pretty much that card runs everything 60fps even if the port was done like playing an emulator

they didn’t show this for frame rate or how smooth are the frames, they wanted to show how easy you can port titles with DX12 to another plarforms that uses it. it took 1 month for four man to port that.
