Bravely Default could come to other devices, says Terada

Tuesday, 25th March 2014 11:40 GMT By Dave Cook

Bravely Default developer Silicon Studios could bring its spiritual successor to the Final Fantasy series to other devices down the line. Studio president Takehiko Terada has discussed the team’s future in a new interview.

Speaking with CVG, Terada said, “We may expand in the future, but we don’t have a clear plan yet. We’re talking about that, maybe using other devices, but we don’t have a clear plan.”

Silicon Studios has received positive notoriety for its Bravely Default titles, which many claim are better Final Fantasy titles than recent Final Fantasy games themselves. That’s entirely subjective of course.

On what comes next, Terada added, “Hopefully we have another game coming from our relationship [with Square Enix]. In the future we want to have a really realistic game, not like Bravely Default which is really cartoonish, but a more realistic game.”

What’s your take on Bravely Default and the work of Silicon Studio? Let us know below.

Just to stay on the 3DS with serious games like this, would be a waste. I hope it comes to the Vita, too. It is the better match for JRPGs or any other games, other than Pokémon.

Please move to series to the Vita.

Ever since Rune Factory 4′s cancellation and SMT4′s no show at the last nintendo direct my 3DS has been gathering dust in a drawer because i cant stand looking at that region locked POS any more.

Much better than getting stuck on a device that still uses archaic region locking system.

If portable, may I ask for a Vita version?
