Octodad: Dadliest Catch has sold over 90,000 units on Linux, Mac and PC, Young Horses has announced. The developer also noted it has made some changes to the game based on player feedback. “As our designers worked towards these changes, our programmers have also been finishing the PS4 version of the game. We’re so excited to get it out there soon,” said the firm’s president and CEO Phil Tibitoski. The game is expected on PlayStation 4 sometime in next month.

I loved it, I thought it was wonderfully silly and there’s nothing wrong with silliness. I did feel the game fell apart in the later levels, though, where it was trying to be more of a game rather than just having you try to do day to day tasks. Octodad was at its best when it realised it was a game that didn’t have to do gamey things.

If that makes any sense, anyway. It was enough of a game without having to cram very typical game mechanics down our throats. It was better when we were cleaning up the yard, or going shopping, or wandering around a museum. It was at its best when it was making the seemingly mundane completely barmy and insane.
