Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain could launch early 2015, according to Konami message

Monday, 17th March 2014 09:38 GMT By Dave Cook

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes users who register their game have received a thank you message from Konami, explaining that they can redeem their bonus DLC in “early 2015.”

It follows our big hands-on Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes preview, in which Brenna discusses the game’s new mechanics, JJ Abrams-grade lens flare and its lack of soul.

Now; Reddit user Hitzkolpf posted the below image, which greeted him after registered his copy of Ground Zeroes:

Note the mention of early 2015. It’s a blanket window but at least it narrows down The Phantom Pain’s potential release schedule some-what.

What do you think?

Doesn’t mention Phantom Pain in that image at all? Seems more likely DLC for Ground Zeroes

No DLC was announced for Ground Zeroes. Early copies of Ground Zeroes contain a “Mother Base” DLC for use in Phantom Pain.

Even pre-order DLCs in Japan are for Phantom Pain only; DLCs like special cardboard boxes or special weapons are all for The Phantom Pain.

Can someone explain to me why we have 2 Metal Gear (Ground Zero and Phantom Pain) games coming out in the space of a year, and why Ground Zero is so cheap, its about 30 euro, half regular price. Thanks.

Ground Zeroes is a very expensive demo and Phantom Pain is the complete game.

I wonder how many people gonna get fooled by this.

That soon? I may have to rethink my purchase and just wait. That ain’t so far and didn’t see why Kojima had to separate the two games because fans are eager to play MGS.

A bundle makes sense at this point.
