Double Fine has announced a sequel to its RPG, Costume Quest. The game is set to come out this year for PC and consoles.

Tim Schafer announced the news during the latest episode of IGN’s Up at Noon, saying, “I saw [a sequel] more as a demand, I don’t know that I had much choice in the matter,” he joked.

“It is that game, you can’t slip that schedule, It’s the kind of game you always want to revisit, there’s such a great core to it,” he added.

The game will be published by Midnight City, which is the independent publishing arm of Majesco Entertainment. The label was formed last year.

THQ was the publisher of the original game and the rights were later bought by Nordic Games after THQ went bust. Nordic Games later transferred the rights to Double Fine.

Cool. Let’s hope this one doesn’t have game breaking bugs that require you to delete your saves

Oh fine. No, oh Double fine.

I loved Costume Quest, so this is definitely on my ‘to buy’ this. I mean, they so thoroughly seem to understand what I like, and Broken Age cemented my belief of that. Steed helped, too. I just want all of their things. And possibly into their sweet stash.

Really? Never had that problem. But that happens to me a lot, there’ll be computer issues that people have had that I just somehow skip over.

(Oh, looking into it, this seems to apply more to the console versions?)
