had to look really hard to spot any differences and even then couldn’t tell, if one is better than the other, it looked just slightly different.
also youtube videos are heavily compressed as we all know, so really there is no point if the difference isn’t obvious

@pukem0n I know what you mean, and most of the time I can’t get a video to play well at all unless I turn it down to 240p which sucks. :(

I played Thief and it looks like a 2009 year old game at best. Maybe 2010 ith all the textures and tesselation.

but the game itself is a god damn mess and one of the worst games of the current and last gen.

Square enix proved that they you destroy one of the best iP in the world by making a game with ton’s of cash. they ruined everything. Stealth, gameplay, story, graphics. Everything.

I don’t exactly know how much influence SE has over EIDOS, but are you sure this is SE’s fault? because from my understanding SE gives Eidos a lot of freedom.

The XB1 version actually looks better, believe it or not. Though they both suffer from heavy FPS losses (25 FPS and 20 FPS).

PC is the only proper way to play the game atm.

I find it hilarious that, after dismissing NeoGaf many times over as a bunch of Sony fanboys, Hcw87 links to them when they linked to that Digital Foundry topic.

Oh, what a shame the edit button isn’t around for Hcw87. Seeing as how that very discussion he linked to isn’t painting the picture Hcw87 wants painted any more. Hell, even the DF article itself is being ‘updated’.

    Oops.

Its quite funny that a porting company makes a far better stable version than the actual studio. Still the gameplay is pretty bare and the story is as boring as it could get.

Its pretty odd using that NG link to defend the XB1 version, because the first thing you see, and what you see as you look through it, is loads of people calling DF out.
    I mean:

Not to mention the XB1 version has al ower framerate & resolution.

In the end though it just sounds like the game was poorly made for both platforms. On PS4 they went with Trilinear filtering which was obviously a dumb choice. But on either platform, i dont see why this game is dropping into the 20FPS mark. Thats just terrible, shoddy work from the devs.

The whole debate about 720p/1080p is the fact that there should be no excuse to have these games in 720p or 900p on these so called next gen consoles. They should be native 1080p period. Ideally for fps 60 fps and other genres 30fps will suffice. Consoles can’t compare to pc’s that is certain.

It’s also not about which game looks better on certain console.

This game runs native 1080p on both consoles and now suddenly it is ok to judge one on its visuality. It’s hilarious.

^ I dont quite get what you’re trying to say, but this game doesnt do 1080p on both consoles, its 900p on XB1.

Really? Oh…I did not know that.

Hmm so for the general public 900p on XboxOne doesn’t differ much from native 1080p on PS4.
For the tech guys its a different story, because XboxOne has frame rate drops up to 20fps and PS4 25fps. PS4 uses a blurry filtering system? PS4 uses POM?

I never freaking heard of all these terms lmao.

We have to admit that DF are makings themselves look like complete fools.

We all know without a shadow of a doubt that if this was the 360 and PS3, they would’ve went out if their way to recommend the 360 version, because it has a higher resolution and higher fps.

It’s good people are calling them out on their bullshit.

    both look the same.

but IF i had to find something, the background depth is where the ps4 shines, like the bird scene at 2:50, where in the XO you cant see other birds. dont know how much that has to do with the actual hardware running small details like that, but i welcome it.

on the hand hand, its THIEF, how much does it really shine? it looks like a last gen game…
