Batman title from Rocksteady could be revealed next week – rumor

Friday, 28th February 2014 20:57 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

The next Batman title from Warner Bros. Interactive and Rocksteady could be announced as early as next week, according to rumors swirling about the Internet.

A shot of a Batman banner which is to be hung in GameStop stores on March 3 has lead to speculation on the matter. An employee who asked Kotaku not to mention their name, also said a poster called “Zeppelin” will be put out and it’s tied into the other Batman materials.

Rocksteady also held a press-junket recently according to a Dutch journalist, with the contents of said junket embargoed until March.

If it’s going to be announced in a stealthy manner, it’s possible, as Kotaku points out, that Game Informer (owned by GameStop) could reveal it as the next issue cover sometime next week. It always announced its covers the first week of the month.

A GameStop employee also sent Kotaku a shot of the inventory database, and notes “Available SKU” for release in October which is when Batman games from Warner have released in the past. It could be any October slated game though, really.

The way it’s looking, we’ll just have to wait until Monday or sometime early next week to find out more.

Then again, it could be for Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition which was recently announced for PC and consoles.

Boo #2 is right! They can’t turn Batman into COD, they should take their time and not rush!

@PrinceEV: There is no indication that it’ll be released this year, only announced. I’m perfectly fine with every two years.

    ’09: Arkham Asylum
    ’11: Arkham City
    ’13: Arkham Origins

Personally happy about Rocksteady getting this long break, gives me high hopes for their next Batman game.

Hmm, my bad, should read the article more carefully next time.

Well, I certainly hope it’s not true. Although I don’t think it would be a rushed game considering how long Rocksteady have had to work on it.

I don’t doubt Rocksteady are taking their but…

2013: Batman Arkham Origins, Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate to 2014: Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate – Deluxe Edition & ??????

Of course it could be a 2015 title but…

@Legendaryboss Edit: Oh for fuck sake, taking their time but… There is nothing to deny that Batman will be turning into a yearly series with or without a mainline rocksteady title releasing this year, a HD port fulfilled that purpose.

@Takeshi an announcement only 6 months after releasing a game? it’s a bit too fast …

@PrinceEV the game 6 months ago was from a different company/studio. There have been rumours for awhile rocksteady passed on origins because they have been working on a next gen batman, but they are just rumours.
