Ether One, a first-person puzzler about “the fragility of the human mind”, is almost upon us, and this new teaser trailer does a good job of – well, teasing.

From White Paper Games, Ether One has two distinct playstyles available; you can wander the world at your own pace taking in the story, or you can get down to brass tacks with puzzles in order to help patients recover from life events. So there’s a game in there for the Game Police to approve of as well as lovely atmospheric romp for the interactive world crowd. Nice.

According to a recent IndieDB post, Ether One drops on March 25, and will also be shown at EGX Rezzed. Ether One passed through Steam Greenlight quite early on.

  1. TheWulf

A horror title that might actually not be schlock horror? Colour me intrigued, because if so, this is a rare sort of beast indeed. I can and definitely will hope, as I enjoy this genre as well.

And what I wouldn’t give for a Quantum Conundrum 2. It was a shame that game was so underappreciated. John de Lancie was absolutely marvellous in that, adorable even, and it was very reminiscent of the puzzles in Portal 1 which required both reflexes and a working mind in order to bypass them.

Then again, de Lancie is often wonderful, when they let him play up his own eccentricities. I’d love to see him in more games, and less serious ones at that.
