Battlefield 4's first iteration of Platoons will roll out on February 27

Battlefield 4 will soon be able to fight as "one persistent unit" nu joining Platoons, which will start rolling out on February 27 as part of DICE's Player Appreciation Month.

Platoons allow players to organize, communicate, and fight - just a like a real one. Basically, players can create and join a Platoon for up to 100 members, public and private feeds will be implemented, you will get an emblem, and you can earn stats and rank up your Platoon.

Those who have played BF in the past will be familiar with the group. DICE announced yesterday it wanted to test it out, and opened the forum for volunteers. Apparently the interest was overwhelming.

Those unfamiliar with Platoons should read the BG4 blog post.
