Battlefield 4 players can download new Shortcut Pack DLC for free, as part of EA and DICE's ongoing Player Appreciation Month event.

The packs offer various weapons, and are designed to allow you "to make up for lost time, or just catch up if you’re new to the game", according to the Battlefield blog.

The free packs will only be available for a limited time; no word on whether they'll be sold as premium DLC later on.

Battlefield 4 Premium members will get access to two special Shortcut Kits, on top of two other Shortcut Kits accessible to all Battlefield 4 owners. Check out the schedule and details below:

  • February 18 to February 24
    Shortcut Kit: Hand Guns
Battlefield 4 Premium Shortcut Kit: DMR’s
  • February 25 to March 4
    Shortcut Kit: Grenades
Battlefield 4 Premium Shortcut Kit: Shotguns

Console owners can claim their kit through the in-game store, while PC users will have to log into Battlelog. Premium members on PC will need to check the News section to get their extra bonus pack.

Thanks, Joystiq.
